Touched!

My experience with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) has evoked the purest and sincerest of thoughts and emotions; I am always awed to hear persons relate their interactions with me after GBS, below my dear friend Kellie Cadogan-Price shares hers…

It was a Sunday morning, March 13th 2016 when I went to see you at the hospital.
That morning before I left church, I shared your situation and your need of prayer with the elders.
My heart was very heavy that morning and I felt the Spirit of God nudging me to visit you that day and it would be my first time.
When I finally found your ward your mom and sister were there and a friend was visiting.
I walked into the air-conditioned room and you were hooked up to the ventilator unable to breathe on your own and the machine was jumping in a way that I could not understand. From what your sister told me it needed to get stable..it was like your body was in shock.
Your entire body was completely swollen and I believe your eyes were covered at that time.
I prayed Psalm 23 in your ear then I did the only thing that I knew outside of prayer, worship. I sang the song Oceans (Where My feet may fail) by Hillsong.
I prayed a fight pray for your trusting and believing God that it would be a miracle and this would be testimony.
I also prayed for your salvation, that you would come to know him as Lord and Saviour and build a relationship with him.
The weeks following my visit your health got increasingly better and I was so excited about that.
Dawn, God is using you in a mighty way, a way you may not understand or may never understand but he wants to show you his glory.
In the days ahead when it is emotionally difficult call upon him and share with him how you feel.
All I know is that the presence of the Lord was very strong that day I visited. Continue to draw near to him and he would draw near to you.

Love always
Kellie

About Dawn Drayton-GBS

In February, 2016 I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). To mark my one year anniversary I have launched this blog. I am hopeful that by sharing my journey I can not only motivate myself and others but also raise awareness of GBS and it's devastating effects on your physical, emotional and mental health.
